Change history

high impact Current term

  • Etsy shops that make $10,000 in a year must use Offsite Ads.
  • This lasts for the life of the shop.

The What

When an Etsy shop makes $10,000 or more in any 365-day stretch, it is in Offsite Ads for good, at a 12% fee on orders from an ad. Smaller shops pay 15% and can opt out.

The Why

If your shop is growing, crossing that sales mark means a fee on ad orders you can never turn off. Shops under the mark can still opt out, and the fee differs by group.

  • Etsy pays you back 4% when buyers use your link.
  • The buyer has to order within 30 days.

The What

When you send buyers to your shop with your own Share & Save link, Etsy puts 4% of the qualifying order total into your Etsy Payment account. The refund happens right when the order is done.

The Why

If you already send people to your shop yourself, those sales can earn some of your fees back. You have to join the program first, and only some orders count.
